Actually, Arabs are not eager to serve in the Israeli army, because much of the Israeli army's duty involves harassing Palestinians in the occupied territories, and very little involves defending Israel. Thus, army service becomes an effective tool for discriminating against Arabs in Israel. Tom

Yogi give me a break, and better see how Egypt "the moderate" country is handling their citizen or Saudi Arabia. Only after you will realize what Wahabism is then you will start to reason. Ask how many Jews are there in government office or what they call legistlative body etc. Interesting that every one has an issue with the only democracy in the Middle East were deputies of the country arch enemies are members of the Knesset and various comities (MK Tibi) but no one finds any fault in Syria, Lebanon Egypt Saudi Arabia and so on. So go and improve the system there before passing muster on Israel
