Stephen Roach is one hell of an analyst. He's telling me the truth. All other analysts calling to buy are fackers and crooks!

iao - Well one necessary component for an end to this is a day with big volume.

OK does the greatest volume in the entire history of the Stock Exchange count or do we need and even bigger day?

My guess now is that sadly this downslide will continue until the makret looks cheap and that has to take account of the ambient profit levels and they are decreasing with every qtr and so I'd like to see how we can avoid going thrgough the 1990 level on the indexes.

If the business climate continues to deteriorate as it is there is in effect nothing to halt the slide, ideed the very opposite.

All that and J&J under'investigation'. Whose next? One per month will send the Dow below 4,000 in a relatively short time. Ther comes a time when the national interest may not be helped by more of this.

Best,

L
