Yep...today reminded me of two other Fridays...October 16th, 1987 & April 14th 2000. Obviously had 2 very different follow-up Mondays. VIX did not get ratcheted that much today, all things considered. I'm on the fence about what happens Monday (though a gap down seems assured).

I'd have a hard time calling the emotions I see expressed about the market as "panic" (something that should be evident at a real capitulation)There's a lot of pain, now, but little emotional fear. So here's a tidbit from Raymond Merriman's column of last week that might pertain to next week. +++++++++++++ But if those lows of 8599 in DJIA and 900.50 in September S&P futures break, the next lunar reversal period is not due until the Full Moon phase of July 24-26. We could easily make a case that the sense of panic could continue, and even climax, then. ++++++++++++++ stariq.com
