Noland's column tonight is absolutely brilliant and a must read for all credit bubble afficionados!

That was a good piece. After reading it, I'm going to put my COF back on Monday (covered yesterday at the open, nice 5 pt move since then <g>)

... Certainly, the news from the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach is not encouraging. Total container imports surged to about 528,000 during June, up sharply from May’s 506,000 (and up 21% y-o-y!). At the same time, container exports dropped to 171,000 from May’s 181,000 (up 3% y-o-y). Up 31% y-o-y, 256,000 containers left these two ports empty last month...

Isn't this all an attempt to beat the clock on a major upcoming labor disruption at the west coast ports?

Regards, Don
