Why is Israel expected to follow standards far beyond the behaviour of anyone else in the world? Israel is a democratic country surrounded by monrachies and dictatorships. That is why it attracts sympathy and understanding from the democratic West and other democratic countries such as India. Hence like the US, Israel is expected to behave responsibly, irrespective of how the other countries behave.
