Chinu,

Given the constant attack on Israel by their much larger, wealthier and hostile neighbours, it would be fairly easy to sustain an argument that their behaviour has been far more responsible than the allies behaviour in Japan, Germany or more recently in Afghanistan.

BTW: I am not being at all critical of the US military, just using them as a point of reference.

Hence like the US, Israel is expected to behave responsibly, irrespective of how the other countries behave.

Israel isn't just expected to behave responsibly, it is expected to let its citizens get blown up without fighting back, to offer more concessions, in fact (Name one thing that Israel did in response that it did not get criticized for). This is very different from the world's criticism of the US, which was not expected to just suck it up and offer concessions after Sept 11th.
