Michael, stripping aside political bias (hard to do, I know) I find Mr. Bogle extremely wise and a nuts and bolts kind of guy. We tend to over-think things when the solution is usually very clear. Throw the criminals in jail, no matter whether they are blue or white collar. Americans don't like the laws skewed toward the rich.

Also, calling upon institutions to do the right thing and backing that up by reminding them that they can also do well financially by doing the right thing. THAT will get their attention.

Convincing people that their voice makes a difference and they WILL get what they want if they speak up and demand it. After all, that is a fundamental American right. The people should have the power, not the few with money and means to control the rest of us. Too many Americans like to whine only. I bet most have never compalined to the people that are supposed to be representing and listening to them! In the stock market, most have whined but never taken 5 minutes to write an e-mail to the SEC or NASD or Congress. Just think what would happen if 5% of us did!

Just like the All-Star fiasco, we make things too hard. I came up with a future solution in less than 30 seconds in case of a tie. Select 3-4 extra pitchers per side that are designated as "tie-breakers". They are reserves and only play if the game is extra long or goes into extra innings. Simple!
