Skeeter, nor do they mention the survivor bias of the indices where laggards and bankrupts are removed and the relative winners( relatively speaking) remain. The typical investor was overweighted in tech so his loses are much bigger than a DJIA or S&P chart will reveal. I don't think you'll see ENE or WCOM in any indices in the future except in my proprietary tough love index-g- Skeeter are you still holding therapy sessions? -g- Mike ho ho ho

SB,

From 1929 to 2002, there are roughly a hundred 26 year periods. You found one where returns were flat.

I will let you count the number of 17 year periods from 1966-2002.

Then, I will let you take a course in simple probability, and draw conclusions. After that, if you can please address this question: if the average intelligence in your class is greater than yours, does it support or negate the assertion that your whole class graduated as uneducated as you seem to have?

-BGR.

The DOW36000 jokers now are doing everything but retracting their masterpiece. Yeah, if you read carefully we never told you a time frame, maybe we shoulda not have that title, maybe we screwed up our calculations, maybe we shoulda asked the readers to buy puts on top of their investments, yeah we were just not as lucky as that dumbass Robert Shiller, blah, blah, blah ..
