I also saw that several banks had been helping Enron hide their losses, but I didn't see any details on the story. I would like to understand it better.

MSFT and DELL are breaking down.

I am beginning to suspect the problem is more than the accounting/crooks and current valuations. I suspect we are about to get some bad news about the economy, and that a large part of the market is in the process of discounting that news. So far, public evidence a strong future economy has been unimpressive. What I'm worried about is non-public evidence that hasn't hit the news yet.
