Every one can chart a trend line to get what he wants. In this chart you can chose several trend lines if you want.

In any case a trendline over 15 or more years is quite meaningless. How many companies in the DOW now were meaningless then (INTC, MSFT, HWQ ) and how many companies in the DOW then are meaning less now ??

Comparing 1975 DJIA and today DJIA is like comparing iron to PC's
