So my 1000 point drop prediction of way back then wasn't so bad after all! AG and the no money men saved us from that calamity. He's so proud of himself.

If we'd had a 22% drop in one day like we had in '87 maybe we'd of had a major financial shock and a bunch of businesses would have failed but it would be over by now.

Absolutely, Grace. While the pace of the downturn doesn't affect me one way or the other, I personally believe that we can thank the originators and proponents of market engineering for it, to a large extent. Those who, with furrowed brows, conceived of and introduced decimalization, program trading curbs, uptick/bid test rules for short selling, and other such rules; even while a couple of corporate fraudsters - ostensibly a regulator's first concern? - were kicking up their heels.

Less is more.
