Housing anecdote:

Ordered some KraftMaid kitchen cabinets. Were told expect 6-8 week delivery. Wife decided to make some changes so canceled the order. KraftMaid calls and says they will start work on cabinets right away and expect delivery next week. Cleared up that misunderstanding no problem.

Made the changes and reordered. In that one week KraftMaid had cut prices about 6%.

Evidence of very week demand?

Sales of existing homes tumbled 11.7% in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.07 million units, the National Association of Realtors said Thursday. It was the biggest one-month drop since April 1995.
