AMD on the verge of breaking key support levels. If it doesnt hold, we'll see $5s soon.

Milan, you have some good points but I think those things are considered luxury items by many. Meanwhile if you buy (or receive as a gift ) Doom3 and you find out that it barely runs on your PC but it looks awesome on your neighbors PC you will go and upgrade...

Odd as it sounds, few people will prefer to add in a $60 USB 2.0 card, they'll just prefer to buy a new PC etc. Similarly, odd as it seems, many people will refuse to add more disk space, they'll just get a new PC.

It isn't odd sounding to me. Would you spend $500 to repair a car that was worth only $1,000? Only if your budget forbids you from a new purchase.

I recently upgraded my PC because every time I made a change it became more and more complicated to get everything to work together. You reach a point where you are afraid that nothing is going to work right. And the thought of spending 4 or 5 hours to try and get everything working together just isn't worth it. Now, obviously, I am not a computer expert, but I'll bet I'm close to the average Joe out there.
