Sign of the times:

Dear Readers,

We are sad to announce that after July 31, BizSpace will no longer publish our 9 telecom and technology news sites, including ASPconnection, BroadbandInfo.com, CallCenterBiz.com, CLEC.com, OpticalNetBiz.com, TelecomBiz.com, TelecomIT.com, TheIPsite.com and WirelessBiz.com. We've had a great ride, but the downturn in the telecom sector has pummeled our business model. Providing free news and analytical content in real time, supported by industry advertising, was a great idea - it just doesn't pay the bills any more!

The past year has been a long, hard struggle; we only made it this far because we were blessed with talented staff, thoughtful and generous investors, and a large group of loyal readers.

Soon, the BizSpace links will take you to a new site that will focus on public policy issues facing CLECs sponsored by Birch Telecom. You'll read about FCC and state commission decisions, court rulings, new filings from the incumbent carriers, and -- if you're lucky -- Mr. Rant might even drop by occasionally to take shots at the ridiculous claims spewing from the mouths of RBOCs. Please mark your calendars to check back here after Aug. 5 so you can take a look at the remodeled site.

As always, if you have comments or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at editor@TelecomBiz.com. It has been a pleasure writing for you.
