That post really makes me wonder about the future of this country....I suspect you are correct and your fond memory is exactly how many remember the Clinton years. And that myopic view is exactly the problem...

It was about more than sex because it wasn't about sex at all. It was about a President who put himself above the law and his fellow citizens, who spit on the rule of law. And that is every bit as dangerous as anything Nixon ever did.........

In most countries it wouldn't have raised more than a snicker. I remember a Nigerian friend's comment: "...in my country, President get blow job, nobody worry. President GIVE blow job, maybe we worry..."

This may be why the USA leads the world, not the other way around.

Nigeria: President Ignoring Gravity of Military Massacre

(New York, April 19, 2002) President Olusegun Obasanjo is still failing to acknowledge the gravity of a massacre in which more than 200 civilians were killed by the military in Benue in October 2001, Human Rights Watch said today. The organization has written to President Obasanjo in response to recent statements he made to the media, in which he dismissed Human Rights Watch’s report on the killings in Benue.

Whether we like it or not, and whether it's justifiable or not, for most people the Clinton administration will be remembered as a time of prosperity and peace and a time when America had the respect of the world.
Steven, I don't usually laugh at yur posts, but that one I did?

It's going to be forgotten that Clinton was the 2nd and most recent President to be impeached? Wanna bet?

Or the Clinton, et al, engineered possibly the biggest bubble of the 20th century? The one whose consequences we are enduring now?

Gimme a break.

Speaking of Clinton, Monica, BJs, etc., just where was NOW, the woman's watchdog, the pitbull ever ready to attack any perpetrator (male gender required, of course) of sexual harassment? Gee, I have the DISTINCT impression I saw the Prexy of NOW on TV defending Clinton AFTER it was known what had happened.

I guess whether it's sexual harassment or not depends on the perp's politics. Interesting.
