EchoStar Reschedules Delayed Launch
For Aug. 20

EchoStar Communications [DISH] rescheduled the launch of its EchoStar VIII
satellite from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, for Aug. 20. The satellite
will launch aboard a Proton launch vehicle provided by International Launch
Services.

The satellite originally was scheduled for launch on June 22, but was scrubbed
during the final hours prior to launch when anomalous readings from a command
receiver on the satellite were observed. A problem identified with the command
receiver has been corrected. The EchoStar VIII satellite, built by Space
Systems/Loral in Palo Alto, Calif., will become the eighth satellite in the Littleton,
Colo.-based company's in-orbit fleet.
