It is going to be interesting to watch these "Peace" groups take to the streets at the first sign of an attack on Iraq. There are a lot of pacifists out there who are really pissed that their generation hasn't had a big cause to demonstrate for. When you read their Web page, every left wing story, from "Bush knew about 9/11" to "anti-free trade" to "you name it" is listed. truthout.org

We all know the issues involved here. God knows we have discussed them enough. I am just looking at the issue from a tactical political standpoint. The difference this time in rallying support, compared to the '60s, is 9/11. Plus, we have an identifiable enemy that the American Public does not like. I don't think we will see any marchers waving pictures of Saddam. Plus, this should be over in a few weeks, which does not give them much time to build support.

This article uses an invasion date of October, which I doubt. I just don't see how we can move that fast. In any case, if this ends up with the Iraqis dancing in the streets of Bagdad as our troops move in, the opposition will be muted. If we "blow" the invasion, that will be another story!

Funny, Mr. Ritter testified before Congress that Iraq retained the ability to build a bomb. By his own testimony, Iraq needs only the fissile material, and within days they could have a functional bomb.

Critical elements of the Iraqi bomb program have never been recovered, which are known to exist because, as in one case, they were observed by IAEA inspectors being smuggled out the back gate while inspectors were held up at the front

Saddam has publicly, on camera, exhorted his nuclear scientists to redouble their "efforts." It is apparent they are possibly attempting to revive their domestic centrifuge program.

Either Mr. Ritter was falsifying his testimony before Congress and to US intelligence services, or "truthout" is misrepresenting Mr. Ritter.

The ambiguity of the status of Iraq's nuclear program is good enough for me. Send in the Marines.
