FWIW, there is always a tomorrow -- of course that assumes you have not killed yourself (financially speaking), and even then, there is always a tomorrow, but in a smaller car/house/budget. But if your spirit dies -- its all over. In that sense I have always agreed with you -- never give up. But kicking yourself for being an ass once in a while is almost as good at laughing at yourself for being an idiot -- even if you have to do it again and again. Good luck.
