Saddam really, really wants these weapons, with a delivery system.

Lots of people want weapons. The question is not what he wants, but what he has or could get, and whether it could be deployed in any way that will threaten us.

Deterrence remains the most effective defense we have, and an invasion renders deterrence ineffective.

The hawks have not presented any convincing evidence to support their contention of imminent threat. They also show no sign at all that they have thought through the potential long term consequences or developed a post-invasion plan for anything but a best-case scenario.

Is Saddam really a greater threat to us today than he was a year ago? Or is that just what we're meant to believe?
