I'd be interested to hear the argument in favor of racial preferences made and defended by anyone here. I think they're a bad idea (for blacks as much as for whites) (though I'm aware of the irony that during the long period when preferences favored whites, there was little righteous indignation expressed by whites) for many reasons, and don't hear any arguments in favor of them that impress me as being grounded in the reality I know.
