Cool operation

Despite the over-clocked speed of 2.63 GHz, both the BIOS and the ASUS PC Probe utility report the 2.63 GHz Pentium 4 to be running at 42C/107F. That's with a single fan on the processor and no case fan.

Contrast that with the over-clocked Pentium III running at 45C/113F, again with a single fan on the processor. Not bad.

And now compare that to the AMD parts. A 1200 MHz Athlon Thunderbird running at its rated 1200 MHz speed using two fans (one on the processor and one on the front of the case) runs at 50C/122F.

The dual Athlon MP 1800 chips, with 4 fans total (one on each processor, one in the front of the case, one in the rear of the case) each report running at 47C/117F.
