Oh my God.
That is absolutely awful. And this happened in 1999. I wonder why this wasn't made a reporting priority back then? instead we have weeks and weeks of coverage of a handful of missing children -- a tragedy to be sure, but I don't think that story (which surely plays on the heartstrings of parents of young children) should eclipse stories such as this.

What a strange world we live in.

If true, this is a shame. A real crime. Abuse of power and a major criminal justice conspiracy.

But a lot of things in the article don't add up. Seems like one call to Janet Reno's Justice Dept would have taken care of things. There's more to the story, I suspect...
