Re <<I am currently holding a semi equipment maker, CHPC>>

Chippack is not a equipment maker. They are an assembly house. They buy back end equipments and use it to provide packaging and testing services.

Re <<...not sure whether they are taking share or what but its clear they are getting good business and expect more sequential growth for the next two quarters.>>

Again, you are misunderstanding Chipack's business. Back end assembly houses are recovering from abysmal capacity overhang that peaked last year. All assembly houses have recently reported and forecasted sequential rise in revenues and earnings. CHPC is not an exception by any means.

re: not in this business climate.
I can name you a number of companies starting with ibm that might consider buying amd. In fact, I view buy-out as a greatest threat to current AMD shareholders as company worth much more than 50% over current stock price which would be the best case scenario for buy-out.

Ted,

Re: "Petz, I don't think AMD will drop to $7 but even if it did ..."

Ted,

re: AMD not going below $7

I think you are dead wrong.

AMD is having a horrible time in the CPU market.

If overall market dumps we will see 5 bucks.

Even if they have fixed the speed crash.

Those parts wont hit the market for 10-12 weeks.

Q3 is gonna be horrible.

Kash
