I am all pro-action. It is just our position / message should be very clear. If we say that terrorism would not be tolerated we should not tolerate it.

I've no problem with action, as long as we use our heads and recognize our limitations. We have great power, but not unlimited power. There are things we can't do alone. There are things we can't do at all. And much though some of us, including some of our leaders, would like to pretend otherwise, many of the problems we face are complex, subtle, and not amenable to quick fixes or simple solutions.

I would hate to see our current situation press us into a position of blind and uncritical support for Israel. I don't think that would be productive or smart. I also don't think we should pretend that we are going to war against all terrorists, everywhere. Rhetorical flourishes aside, we're not. We're going to war to protect ourselves from terrorism. There are plenty of terrorists we won't lift a finger against.
