re: Since then, we have learned that under Jeb Bush, FLA is probably one of the most corrupted states in the union where very little works well.

Do you REALLY think your response was adequate? What, exactly, did you cite that constitutes "corruption"? While there certainly appeared to be serious mistakes made resulting in the children being lost, and that's regrettable.

But "corruption"? Please. At least ATTEMPT to make a reasoned argument if you're going to make such a statement. Florida's voting system was no better or worse than ours or yours -- they're all outdated. And Bush took steps to correct the problem, for which you give him no credit. Most other states have not.

It is laughable that you continue to point out these anecdotal voting anomolies in FLA. You FAIL to mention the senile nursing home patients being "assisted" in voting for Democrats; the poor blacks being paid off in cigarettes to vote Democratic, the Gore attempt to THROW OUT ballots of overseas military personnel, and a ton of other "corrupt" practices of Democrats. You conveniently omit these items.

Get over it. Bush won, fair and square. A liberal attempt to steal the presidential election was foiled. And just about everyone breathed a sign of relief that he had once 9/11 rolled around.

RE:"My point is that FLA screwups and suspicious behavior allegedly attributable to corruption seem to make the news wires at least once a month. Having said all that, I realize you are a FLoridian and probably don't appreciate my trashing your state; however, I was in the heat of argument and trying to make a point. And I think your beaches and your residents are great; in fact, some of my family lives there........and no I will not give you their name and address.......they don't like to be fire bombed. ;~(("

I don't think it was corrupt Ted. Just close. If anyone could be blamed it would be the so. fl. DEM leaders who instructed the elderly to vote wrong (still in office BTW) and the person who designed the butterfly ballot, a DEM, who is still on the job BTW.

Ted,

re: Florida

Broadly incompetent I would agree with, "the most corrupted state", I would have to take issue. But having grown up in the Chicago area, I may have a different perspective on corruption <g>.

Your gal Ms. Harris is up to it again. She failed to read the election laws, and so had to abruptly resign yesterday as Secretary of State.

"This is beyond egg on your face," said Richard Scher, a political science professor at the University of Florida. "This is just plain dumb."
