Lorne, I still believe the Muslim "religion" is good. It is the people; Muslim fundamentalists and the moderates. They will slug it out as they are doing in France. I think the Western political philosophy in practice today is to separate the church from the State. The progressive Islamic countries like Jordan and Egypt should adopt this philosophy into their system. While their prophet did say that they should make religion a part of their life in the form of praying so often during the day etc. the moderates do realize the spirit of that teaching. So it would be interesting to see at least in France, how they would adjust to the increasing demand from their Muslim population to change some of the existing public practices in places such as schools etc.

Even here in some city council meetings in California with a predominant Muslim population we have prayer rooms in the City hall where Muslim attendees of City Council meetings leave the meeting to go to the prayer hall/room, pray for about 5 to 7 minutes and then come back. This room is provided for by the city. Diversity, multiculturalism???
