"That is a preposterous generalization. Most Americans are responsible and hard working. "

I believe the key word here is accountability. Most American to not take responsibility for their actions. We are splitting hairs maybe a bit on some issues but I work with the public too often to believe people take responsibility for their actions as a general rule.

William,re:"most americans ... responsible and hard
working". Only if they afford to. During the go-go years,
money flowing everywhere, everyone is a nice guy... until
the 'fairness' is broken. You know you cannot be fair
any more. Nature's survival skill #1: do whatever it takes
to stay alive. Most people don't have the skill and
opportunity to be irresponsible. You better be hard
working or you lose your job. You cannot feed your
family, make the rent/mortgage payment if you lose your job.
Fed LAUD the productivity, read that long/long work hours
of same pay.
Fed has DUMPED so much liquidity into the market already,
And what GoldmanSach wants, more money.
I've been saying the reward is 'VIOLENCE' built in the
society. Sometimes, old rule/saying does have some sense,
'money is the fountain of evils'. Ancestors learned it
and passed along the wisdom. And what do we do: we keep
printing money. We make sure nobody has enough of it.
USA...USA...USA...USA...USA...USA... we'll beat Japan,
but since Japan can survive it, so can we. But it
would be just as painful if not more so.
