Focus on just what I've already posted: the histories of Iran and Iraq in the second half of the 20th. century (we can get into central america or southeast asia some other time). All I maintained was that hewing closer to our TRUE national interests (democracy, free markets, human rights, open trade, sound legal systems) would consistently produce BETTER and LONGER LASTING foreign policy successes than sucking up to the 'dictator of the month'.
