I think both the Palestinians and the Israeli's need peace and a future to look forward to. Right now there is no peace and no future -- and the two are connected. Let me tell you a story. I had a friend many years ago who worked with Indians and Eskimos. Up on the northern end of Baffin Island there was a community that did nothing but sealing. Seal hunting was banned one year and within 12 months 25% of the population killed themselves. She was invited to the community to work with them to try to find a way for the young people to see a future without seal hunting -- a future worth living in. When young people see no future for themselves they die. When they see no future for themselves and they are full of hatred, they kill. The Palestinians see no future -- and Israel has played a role in creating this situation -- make no mistake about it.
