thoughts on 3 ideas for stimulus

#1 cutting rates
I think this would cause a brief stock rally
the stock market always loves such things, since even margin stock loans are cheaper
it would not necessarily lead to more optimism among lenders though, since the economy sucks
but such a move would signal DESPERATION to the world

#2 increasing money supply
this sounds easier than the reality
how increased?
if lenders are reluctant to lend more, then lower rates wont make a dent
see Japan for this path
the Dept of Trez could issue added tax refunds with some emergency measure of Congress, but those clowns would argue over it for 6-9 months
the Fed could release more supermoney to regional banks, but again they wont lend it freely

#3 lower margin bank reqmts
the Fed could relax on bank deposit ratios, but same story
this has the same effect as #2

I would do the following:
- cut personal income tax rates by 5%
- increase child deduction to $5000 per year
- cut corporate income tax rates by 5%
- cut capital gains tax rates by 5%
- eliminate dividend tax altogether
- reduce by 30% all federal, military pensions
- have personal tax refund every 3 months until a recovery
- forgive all income taxes for 2 years on new companies
- forgive all income taxes for 10 years on US mfg companies returning to the US from offshore
- roll back ALL protective tariffs
- sell 25% of all federal lands, including most of Nevada
- write down 50% on redemption of foreign-held US cash
- raise stock margin requirements to 75% equity
- return all USForces from Afghanistan
- close 50% of all world US Military Bases

and my favorite new idea under consideration
- write down 50% of the 30-yr Treasury Bond Debt !!!

who are we kidding?
we are a bankrupt nation
