Also,CNN's been playing an audiotape of a man who was working as an informant in an FBI sting operation investigating the tax assessor's office. I heard that. And then I turned off the TV. I've been reading about plans for September 11. I'm thinking that that would be a good day for a long hike in the woods and for leaving the TV off entirely. I don't relate at all to this need to revisit the event so soon after. Maybe in five years.

I took my father to the airport that morning for his return trip home when I got back, I didn't turn TV on, for I don't like TV and it was a relief to have the house quiet he called soon after, grounded and at the airport, telling me what had happened and would I come right away to pick him I got in before they closed our airport down I saw him standing there waiting, with an armed security guard at his side I rushed out of the car into his arms and began to cry it's not that I thought he was in danger and then it hit me that's what every one of those people who got up that morning, boarded those planes and died thought too
