I don't know whether this has already been posted because I have never been to this thread before. Anyway....

Intel 2001 Results:
As Reported Earnings 1.29 Billion

S&P Core Earnings 334.6 Million

Difference -956.4

S&P Core Earnings
bwnt.businessweek.com

EPS as reported .19 per share

EPS (SFAS 123) (from notes in INTC 10K)
to take options expense into account .04 per share

Asking Cisco, Intel, Oracl, Sebl and many other Silicon Valley executives their opinion about whether options should be expensed on the income statements is like asking the fox whether he should be in charge of the henhouse. These companies all have a great deal to hide when it comes to unexpensed stock options.
