This is an excellent example of one of the reasons Intel doesn't like the idea of expensing options (and I agree). Instead of making it easier for investors to read earnings statements, companies will now report as above, i.e. both with and without the effects of the options expense. There will be two numbers each quarter for analysts and investors to sort through - many of us experienced investors won't be confused, but many novice ones will.
