But I think there is some consensus that if we kill Saddam we're going to have to be around long enough to see that a Democracy is there to replace him.

The problem is if we really want to be sure that a stable democracy replaces him we might have to stick around for a long time. In the mean time we might be subject to guerilla warfare attacks and terrorism.

I see the situation with Iraq as being a mess for the US if we invade and stay, if we invade and leave, or if we don't invade.
