Thankfully, no one I know on a personal level seems capable of threatening to kill anyone, burn down their house, or kidnap and hold someone against their will. That being said, I do not share your view that the person who made these threats might be simply acting irresponsibly. Perhaps this is why the FBI has taken the postings, the e-mails, and phone calls directed at me, Delfino, and our attorneys seriously enough to identify and contact the perpetrator. I can not give more details on this ongoing investigation as it is now in the hands of the US attorney. However, it is a sad day indeed if this criminal is not held accountable for acts that the FBI has stated quite clearly are violations of both State and Federal law. Free speech is protected no matter how distasteful or offensive, but threats of violence are simply unlawful and should be dealt with accordingly.
