Well, these are interesting points. Gold has upkeep too though as you have to pay someone to store it and possibly insure it. However, its somewhat limited quantity makes it interesting as a currency or currency backing medium.

What is the recommended method to buy gold, sell it again or buy things with it? I'm ready to switch now once I know how.

"...[strange] not more runs on banks and bank failures."
.
Since i live in the past, and wait not for new presents
knowing the future can be put off forever, those answers
i have read at Gata Bill's LeMetropoleCafe telling me
the makeup of cheap hotdogs already eaten
and now ready to become "whats next"
has only interest for others, not me.
(but)
Your question above has been answered,
not with runs but with drips, as
"...[strange] not more runs on banks and bank failures."
occur in the United States, and Canada since it tends to
try to be like Mike. bBut if a bank fails and the politicians
know its their own damn fault (a song lyric) and and etc
then tax money into the Fed gov'mint simply does a back
stepping for each run step'ing. (or) inflation also connected?
(or) banks fail only in tax money only, not deposits.

It may be that photons that are practically massless...

[stop.] (or) Golly EC you gotta get your p(s) & q(s)
crossed & dotted first before you can continue.
- is light mass or energy?
- the BB was before the bang mass or energy or none
- heat a metal and get light (and) result with less metal? sure
(but)
that metal atom
before it gave off energy as visual light (radiation)
and after
does it have the same number of components?
as in number of electrons etc
and if so
a reduction in energy seems likely
but if same number means same mass
and e=mc2
then where did the energy come from
seems like a reduction in mass of these parts
by then
these parts are themselves built from parts
and if so
sandwhich go from mass to energy
and maybe inbetween this process
like making cheap hotdogs
the light or radiation is something else
not mass or energy
but starts at zero speed
and during the making of light
becomes light
only when it reaches the speed of loght
or
light robot lobot loght
or a middle ground
where mas and energy go
and while there
are not
