OT "America is really decadent, weak and soft." Do you think it's the food that's causing an epidemic of diabetes among 30 year olds. Sixty percent of the population is overweight. I think part of the reason Anna Nicole Smith now has her own show is more folks can identify with her heft than Gwyneth Paltrow's petiteness.

This is getting ridiculous, Nadine. Since when has Saddam embraced any kind of "true Islamic model"? He might be paying lip service to it these days, I don't know. I guess it fits in with the "Arab Mind" style of "analysis" that the ignorant Arab masses would take that kind of convenient conversion at face value, but for those who don't believe in broad ethic stereotyping for political purposes, it seems dubious.

Hi Nadine Carroll; Re an attack removing Saddam Hussein and the Islamic recruiting pitch.

Since the Islamic Fundamentalists have been fighting to remove Saddam for many decades, our removal of him for them will be counted as evidence that the Lord works in their favor.

As long as we're on the subject of rational thinking among religious believers, isn't it true that the Old Testament is shot through with examples of Israel being punished for wickedness by the Lord allowing them to be militarily beaten? If that makes sense, I'd say that Moslems blaming the downfall of Iraq on its secularism makes sense too.
