Thanks. The question, in my mind, is "what could the West have done about Eastern Europe at the end of World War II?"

I confess to intellectual sloth on this question, but dismiss out of hand any argument that we should have played footsie with Hitler rather than Stalin.

I am no fan of Stalin, either. The fall of the Berlin wall was one of the greatest experiences in my life. I have a piece of that wall, and will always remember those who died there.
