Kumar, many countries declared independence from Britain and for the most part, it was accepted as the will of the populations involved.

Many of the newly-independent countries would have done better to remain British, but the local bosses wanted to get their greedy paws on the goods.

It really is possible to just let them go. What's the problem? If Kashmiris decided to be independent, that's democracy - majority decision and all that good stuff.
