Hi Susie -- yes 5.9% unemployment is low.

4% - 5% is unsustainably low. So low that businesses can no longer find qualified people. The only way to hire is to offer them waaaay more money than they're currently making or are worth. Trust me, that was what it was like in 1999 - 2000.

5% - 6% is healthy. Starting around 7% - 8% either you're out of work and can't find a job or you know someone who is out of work and can't find a job. Right now, anyone who can't find a job is just being choosy or is expecting to be paid what they were being paid back is 2000. So IMO, unemployment becomes high around 7% - 8%.
