A million casualties from the burned out Soviet army?? In yer dreams bud. hehe

With due respect I think you need to look at my previous links I posted a little more carefully. Burned out???

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would have thought that at the "Battle of Berlin", it was obvious that the Germans had lost the war, the Russians were just destroying whole armies to the last man, they would have eased up a little??? Waited for Allied help maybe ??

Perhaps just surrounded the place and starved it out over several months. No they didn't do that. They went in and took 305 THOUSAND dead without batting an eyelid. For your convenience I shall just post the link you should of read.

How many USA casualties were there in WW2?. The USA was sensibly very anti war until Pearl Harbor. The USA government had a real problem on it's hand getting the public behind another war. "Saving private Ryan" has some nice reference to that point. The USA civil war was probably still strongly influencing the public mind. My posts to you are just (hopefully) a kind reminder that a casual reference to so called "superiority" reminds me only of Goebbles speech to the German public early in WW2. Reality turned out to be much different.

Your reference to "what the Soviets were going to eat" is a good example. The fact is the "supply" lines to many major "Eastern Front" (Western Front to Russians I expect) were just trucks full of ammunition. Why send food to troops who were expected to die bravely in battle? There is some story of some trucks sent to the battle front with onions. The whole army stank of onions for weeks because thats all they ate.

Then there is the story of the main battle tanks crossing rivers chained together in case the ice broke. The tanks were in shorter supply then the tank crews. The crews could always be replaced.

Sure there was Soviet propaganda at work in the last century. Perhaps I am a dupe of some of it. Very little though (imho) On the other hand check that twig in your eye too.

PQ17 means quite a bit in this country.

The US reacted strongly to the Royal Navy apparently leaving its merchantmen to their fate.
