Ted, everyone is a "victim" of something or someone. As long as there are "victims," there will be those who think affirmative action is necessary to mask the injustice.

Ted, by the way, seems like my friend's restaurant is guilty of the very thing I was arguing against:

250 East Indians signed up for a party to be hosted by the restaurant. Only about three dozen were admitted, while up to 150 others were barred. Here was the response from the doorman:

Stafford explained he was concerned if he let them all in, there wouldn't be room later in the night for customers of other complexions.

"It's my responsibility to blend this club," Stafford said. "There has to be a balance, there has to be. And that's what happened."


Sounds like affirmative action to me. Funny how this time, it's us Asians who are committing such a sin. <G>
