The media is really unbelievable.

I was plowing over my stack of accumulated mail this weekend, and ran into the latest issue of Wired Magazine, a generally OK publication with lots of good forward looking things, including some crazy stuff that is enjoyable and, who knows, perhaps a harbinger of the future.

It has a short article on GPRS, and how it will be the cat's pajamas. Said that 1x might be a competitor especially after it's data rate gets cranked up to 307 kbps.

Naturally, the article did not mention GPRS's data rate or its less than stellar reception.

NOK stops progress!! Hey, wait for me. I'm supposed to be the leader. Sure my technology sucks, my vision sucks, I lie about everything and I bankrupt operators -- but so what, I controll your GPS network and you will, by GOd, wait for me. Hell no, I don't know what to do -- but so what -- we will figure it out while you operators bleed to death.

<Vendor financing became popular in Europe,> when imported from USA, by struggling USA vendors.

Interesting spin due to its lenght, usually spins are shorter, so that it is easier, takes less concentration,
to read them.

Strange that no spin was spun on standards, both bodies, memembers and building them, compatibility, etc,etc..

Missed this when this spin forst appeared, should also have Motorola as a source
<Jeff Corley, director of strategic alliances and partnerships for Lucent, referring to wireless equipment vendors. "If my weaknesses are IP, I'm going to try to slow that up.">

The stuff which becomes so obvious within the process of producing compatible, open standards, even
if the operators are the majority of the memebers.
