Remember, I put this forward commenting on the way religious people might think about government. But more than that, it does make a difference to a lot of people whether morality is written into the fabric of things to be discovered, or invented to suit given societies. My own position is that morality is logically antecedent to religion, but anthropologically posterior, and stronger if tied to the sentiments of reverence and gratitude fostered by religion.........
