We have too much debt
Debt means in the future you will be able to repay however if one looks at the telecoms the ability to repay was not there. The reasons was partially to do with competition amongst self and we have entered an era where the business market is world competition. The pay down of debt for a nation comes from its tax base. If all major world corporations are US our tax base still comes from the people who live in the nation the government is attempting to service.

It appears in the more affluent nations property has gone up people in general are less optimistic about investment is what i believe as well as there is just too much fiat out there that is accommodating the rising price of housing.
