Hi Hawk, We could make a big discussion of this. Lots of fine details, maps, diplomacy etc. I rather get straight to the point though. fordham.edu The guys who helped the allies throw the Japanese imperialists out of Vietnam by 1945 hoped to finally have an independent country. They got let down. making the Viet Minh an ally of the United States at that time. The rest is history. I am no communist. In fact I was fully aware that system of government was no good when I heard all about it as a student in the 1970's. In fixing problems there is more then one way to skin a cat though. That is my suggestion in changing communist countries over to a more open democratic form of government. I'm watching developments in Eastern Europe where these things are supposed to be happening. After Israel, for example, the country receiving most USA financial aid is the Ukraine. Pearly.
