Agreed, but it'll never happen. If you thought big tech has enough clout to stop the option expensing train, that ain't nothin' compared to the clout the ABA and all the little bars have in DC. Don't you know the whole point of regulation, at least the point behind making it all so incredibly complicated, it to keep the money flowing to lawyers (the accountants get to keep some, too - the lawyers need them)? But that's only one part of the ongoing massive transfer of wealth to the bar. Read up on asbestos litigation some time and see if you can find out what happens to all those companies bankrupted by it.

BTW, I think I saw that piece, but somewhere else. Wasn't there some mention of some new legislation introduced by plaintiff's lawyer extraordinaire Sen. Edwards of NC? I can't remember what it was about, only that its sponsor surprised me.
