I don't agree with the "cornered" argument. Saddam has used chemical weapons before without being cornered. He also invaded Kuwait without being cornered. And he kicked out the U.N. weapons inspectors without being cornered.

Besides, the "cornered" argument only confirms the fears of the hard-liners: that Saddam does indeed have WMD. The flaw is trusting Saddam not to use them, except for self-defense. He's violated that trust before, and no one has given me any reason to believe he won't do that again.

He kills his own people with WMD. The Kurds in the north. He used WMD against Iran.

Search for Kurds and Poison.
