Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd - News Release

Cdn Metals drops rights to two California properties

Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd CEL
Shares issued 5,052,990Mar 21 2002 close $ 0.24
Thursday March 21 2002News Release

Mr. Barry Whelan reports
Due to the decline in lower commodity prices in natural gas, Canadian Metals Exploration has terminated its rights to two separate oil and gas projects located in Southern California: the Buttonwillow oil and gas prospect and the Moffat Ranch exploration project.
The company will focus its attention on exploration and development of the Turnagain River property that is 100 per cent owned by the company. The property consists of 91 contiguous claims located approximately 68 kilometres east of Dease Lake in Northern British Columbia. During 1996, 1997 and 1998 the company has expended over $1.2-million (Canadian) exploring the property primarily for nickel, cobalt, copper, platinum, palladium, silver and gold.
The property is accessible from Dease Lake by helicopter (15-minute flight) or by four-wheel-drive truck via a 78-kilometre dirt road. There is a small 2,000-foot airstrip on the Turnagain that provides access to the southern part of the property. Drill roads provide access to the lower parts of the property, while the upper sections and the southeast comer are accessible by helicopter.
The company is seeking financing to conduct additional drilling on the property this season to evaluate indications of semi-massive nickel bearing sulphides encountered in previous drilling programs.
