NREL's gonna go ahead and impose something that doesn't get as clear OR as dark, isn't as durable, requires much more power, and has been just "sat on" by its developers for the past decade

We'll have to see won't we. So far I see both EC and SPD as being promoted as energy efficient alternatives. SPD is only one available as film. There are also several other advantages to SPD in certain products as I'm sure EC will be better for other products. It's not either/or. There is 40,000,000,000 square feet of glass produced annually. I'd be just as happy if SPD only captured 1% of that market. EC could have 5% and REFR would still make $400,000,000 annually and still only spend $4,000,000 annually. That's $33 EPS. Not bad!
